Week 2 - Friday 9/16 - Tuesday 9/20 

Today, we learned:

• Our very first song- the Ants Song!!!
• The names of our strings
• How to hold our instruments and pluck the strings correctly 
• How to set up our shoulder rests (violins/violas)  and rock stops (cellos) 

Before your next lesson, please:

• Review the parts of your instrument and label them on your sheet if you forgot last week!  
• Practice unpacking, ready position, putting on your shoulder rest, holding your instrument (see the inside of your Essential Elements book for help!)
• Practice the Ants Song and memorize the names of your 4 strings- teach your parents how to play it!  Take a picture of yourself at home with your instrument so you can always remember how you looked/felt when you first started playing!
  
• BONUS- see if you can figure out how to play the DAD song- we will learn it together in class next week!  

Don't forget to bring ALL 4 ITEMS to your next lesson!  (Instrument, Binder with pencils, Essential Elements Book 1, shoulder rest/rock stop)
