Assignments for classes on: Monday 3/18, Tuesday 3/19, and Friday 3/22We had a great class today! I am so proud of everyone for a fantastic String Jamboree concert! It really was a special night! Here's what we did in class today: 1. We talked about our next concert, Spring String Thing, and the t-shirt design contest! (See attached concert announcement for details) 2. Students filled out a concert reflection sheet, where they discussed successes and challenges from the previous concert, along with goals for the rest of the year in strings 3. #68 Rhythm Rap. We spoke the "dog chase the cat..." rhythm, then played it on an open string with the accompaniment track 4. #89 Bile 'em Cabbage Down. We looked at Part B and realized it was all the same note, open A, on "dog chase the cat" rhythm. We played it all together, and bass players played their Part B, which is a real bass line! 5. We sang through the notes for Part A of Bile 'em Cabbage, then played all of Part A together 6. Echo game- students echoed parts of #88 Frere Jacques. Then, we played the whole thing! Assignment for next week: #69, 88, 89 (Parts A and B) Bonus: try Can Can #92 very slowly! Also.... don't forget to fill in your practice times in the March Madness calendar. T-shirt designs are due Friday April 5th HERE is a video of the String Jamboree concert :)
